People of the Faroe Islands
People of the Faroe Islands is a documentary series by producer, photographer and writer AMYJROBINSON, following the stories of local people and places in this eight-part mini-series.

Episode 1 - Jóhannus
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 1 follows Jóhannus Kallsgarð, a sixteenth-generation sheep farmer and tour guide living in the small village of Trøllanes on the island of Kalsoy. We join him and his friends, Eivin and Sørin, on a once-a-year tradition known as the “Fulmar Egg Hunt”, where locals abseil and traverse steep cliffs in search of fulmar eggs.

Episode 2 - Niels & Carina
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 2 follows Niels and Carina, co-owners of the cosy eatery renowned for its red paint and grass roof. Situated in the centre of Tórshavn, we join the couple at Paname Cafe as they reflect on the constant need to adapt as a small business and how Niels became the local Pit Master.

Episode 3 - Sissal
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 3 follows Sissal Kristiansen, designer of Shisa Brand and advocate of Faroese wool. Sissal shares some of her favourite places with us, taking us to the local museum filled with works from famous Faroese painters, sculptors and artists with a rich connection to nature.

Episode 4 - Sebastián
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 4 follows Sebastián Jiménez García, head chef of the now Michelin Star restaurant, Ræst. Originally from Mexico, Sebastián takes us foraging for local seaweeds in the small town of Kirkjubøur.

Episode 5 - Lina
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 5 follows Lina Hanssen, an educated florist and owner of Blóma. We join Lina in her hometown of Sandavágur as she details how flowers have been an instrumental part of her life and how nature plays a pivotal role in her creativity and business.

Episode 6 - Jasmin
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 6 follows Jasmin Mote, a singer-songwriter known as Jazzygold. We join Jasmin after her recent performance at the G! Festival to talk about the music scene in the Faroe Islands and listen to her recent single, 'Day Off'.

Episode 7 - Jónleyg, Beinta & Sonni
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 7 follows the team at Fiskastykkið, a historic building turned cafe in Sandvágur. Jónleyg shares the history of the building, originally a Bacalao warehouse, and the importance of preserving and keeping its memory alive. Sonni, head chef, proudly shares the story of his grandad, who worked at the warehouse decades before.

Episode 8 - Tórik
People of the Faroe Islands Episode 8 follows fisherman Tórik Ábraham Rouah on the hunt for Northern Fulmar. Years ago, this seabird was rarely spotted and seen as an omen of bad weather. Nowadays, young birds are hunted with nets whilst they’re too fat to fly and eaten in many households during autumn.
